"Funny" Songs list, version 1.10 12 Aug 1995 12:43:06

Yes, this list is pretty old but it is still a good resource.

Sender: landauer at got dot net (Doug Landauer)

OK, so my world-net-connection is running just a little slow. Anyway, here's the latest incarnation of the list of Funny Songs that I started to collect some time last year. (I use a broad definition of "funny", so I include ones that are merely amusing or just make me smirk. I also use a broad definition of "folk", but the majority of the songs do fit squarely into this list's charter.)

Note that I have removed the short list of funny/silly country song titles, for two reasons: (1) I merged a couple of much longer such lists, and (2) I found a book containing a whole bunch of them. Will send more info, off-list, upon request. My two favorites:

  • I Kissed Her on the Lips, And Left Her Behind for You
  • I Don't Want Your Body If Your Heart's Not in It
My thanks to all the contributors, and sorry I've lost your names in the spaces between the pixels here. As always, further contributions are appreciated/solicited, and if there is a whole slew of them, then maybe I'll re-post this sooner than *next* April Fool's Day.
