Susan Boyle unites the world

Friday, April 17th, 2009

If you are reading this you are probably one of the 20 million (and counting) people that have watched the video of Susan Boyle singing on Britain’s Got Talent. She’s got a nice voice but is not the kind of singer I would normally listen to. I much more enjoyed seeing the reactions of the [...]

Battlestar Galactica finale

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

I waited until I heard Ron Moore’s commentary on the finale before writing because I wanted to hear if he had an explanation of some of the things that I didn’t think were properly resolved in the finale. Unfortunately that was not the case.
First, this review is full of spoilers. If you haven’t seen the [...]

cbs.com

Friday, March 13th, 2009

I was recently on a long trip and my Tivo filled up. As expected I missed recording several shows towards the end of my trip. Not a problem, I thought, because with hulu and the networks own websites I figured I could watch any shows that I missed. I would put up with their commercials [...]

Poking Fun at Americans

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

Why People Believe Americans Are Stupid at Shoutfile.com is an Australian man on the street interview asking Americans geography and politics questions. Of course, they edit it so that only the dumb answers are shown. But it is pretty funny, nonetheless. I especially like his fake maps where Australia is labeled Iran, North Korea, etc.
This [...]

Seinfeld: The Lost Episode

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

This is hilarious. Seinfeld: The Lost Episode is on the National Lampoon website . It mixes in Michael Richards infamous comedy club performance, the apology on David Letterman, and “Kramer” clips from Seinfeld to make a self-standing part of a Seinfeld episode.
Definitely worth 3 minutes 27 seconds of your time.

Firefly-Serenity Chinese

Friday, October 7th, 2005

The Firefly-Serenity Chinese Pinyinary translates all the Chinese slang used in Firefly. The site is well designed so you can look up phrases by episode, words, etc. A lot of fun and just another layer to a well-crafted show.

Top 50 Science Fiction Television Shows of All Time – Boston.com

Thursday, September 29th, 2005

The Boston Globe’s top 50 list of the best Science Fiction TV shows of all time doesn’t cut it in my opinion.
Also their format stinks, making you click your way down the list instead of just presenting it all on one page.
Their top 10:
1. Star Trek (original)
2. Battlestar Galactica (New)
3. Star Trek: The Next Generation
4. [...]

G4 Tech-less TV

Wednesday, September 28th, 2005

Attack of the Show was bad enough. Now they are going to show reruns of The Man Show? They are definitely going in the wrong direction. Maybe they will move Call for Help to a “better” time slot like 3am.
Time for another billionaire to have a go at a real “tech” TV. Bill would you [...]

TiVo

Tuesday, September 27th, 2005

Sure, now that tivo is going down the tubes in the US, they start offering service in Canada. Well, better late than never.
Now I just have to figure out how to get my tivo from where it is, a couple of thousand miles away, to Toronto so that I can use it.

Six Feet Under

Thursday, September 1st, 2005

A good TV show, now finished. I liked the last episode (spoiler warning) where they go into the future to see everyone die. I also liked the imagery when Nate died: seeing his father and brother David (as a surfer dude) before going off into the ocean. Finally, it was an interesting scene when Brenda [...]
