Lunarpages offers shared web hosting. I tried it for a couple of days but canceled very quickly. They did give me most of my money back. My main complaints are: no SSH. There is no way to directly interact with the shell. I had to write shell scripts and set them up as cron jobs [...]

Stick it to the man… Frankly, I don’t have an HD player and don’t plan to buy one (until I can get a combined HD/Blue Ray player for under $200; oh, yeah, and an HD TV). But I do like free speech and the idea that this number by itself (i.e. without a program to [...]

BubbleShare is a photo sharing website. I’ve tried various others including shutterfly, photoclub, and flickr but this is my current favourite. One of the most insightful blogs on the net is Techcrunch. Michael Arrington has connections throughout the industry and seems to get early access to all the new, hot companies. Combine that with an experienced eye for tech trends and the result is a great source of information.

The author is pushing his diet program but his The Top 10 Fitness Lies is still spot on. I liked the concise descriptions of how there are no shortcuts to fitness despite all the claims.

I always have trouble remembering how to tell plants and trees apart. What tree is that? is a clever website that teaches you how to distinguish one tree from another and provides lots of information about the trees, too.

Everyone knows by now that Google to Acquire YouTube but is it a good business move? I say yes. The three knocks against youtube (from a business point of view, not the user experience which is obviously a huge hit) have been copyright infringement, bandwidth costs, and how to monetize. In fact, when discussing the [...]

OKCupid! The Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test is a fun diversion. 60 questions and then it tells you the definitions (if you didn’t know, which I didn’t). My results: Pure Nerd 78 % Nerd, 17% Geek, 34% Dork It seems that if you score more than 50% in one of the categories then you are [...]
