ESET makes the fine antivirus product Nod32 which I used with no problems for one year.

However, when my subscription was about to end I never received any notification from Eset either by email or through some indication (e.g. popup) from the software itself. I looked on their website for something about renewal but didn’t find anything. The only option was to submit a form (asking for address, telephone number, and email address) to contact a salesperson. I did that but never heard anything back.

After the expiration date there was again no indication that there was any change in the behaviour of the product. However, it was not updating the virus tables. When I tried to do a manual update I saw that my username/password had been removed so I couldn’t login to their site for the updates.

My conclusion is that Eset is only selling to businesses and has abandoned the home user. That is their loss as I have now uninstalled their product and will share my negative experience with them.
