Pixar executives are put in charge of Disney’s animation department, Pixar retains its culture (read autonomy), and for good measure Steve Jobs becomes Disney’s largest shareholder and gets a seat on the board.
So, the Pixar folks get to keep on doing what they are doing in an even bigger company and their stock gets a bump when it’s exchanged for Disney stock. Good going.
