↑↓ The 50 Greatest Gadgets of the Past 50 Years

Saturday, December 24th, 2005

I like the list of PCWorld.com – The 50 Greatest Gadgets of the Past 50 Years but they conflate products with models so you have to be an early adopter for some products (to get the specific model they include) but not others.
For example, #16 Texax Instruments’ Speak and Spell. No model mentioned and there [...]

CNN.com – Top 10 World Wide Web moments

Wednesday, December 14th, 2005

The list of the top 10 Web moments from CNN.com – 15 years of the World Wide Web – Dec 13, 2005 is really lame. Obviously written by someone that didn’t “discover” the web until the late 90’s.
Here’s the list:
1. Google
2. Hotmail
3. Boom and bust
4. Tsunami and 9/11
5. Lewinsky scandal
6. Napster goes offline
7. Live 8 [...]

This was my favourite book to date [...]

Vidcast Hak .5 is getting better and better with each episode. The production values are very high and the content is a grab bag of so many things that there are bound to be items of interest for almost any tech taste.
The bloopers at the end are always good for a laugh especially the references [...]

Friday, December 2nd, 2005

This election promise to reduce the GST (Goods and Service Tax) by the Conservatives (Liberals Confused Over GST) is a real non starter.
First, as was pointed out on the CBC’s The Current, the claim that this would save $400 in the first year for a family of four with an income of $60,000 is ridiculous. [...]

Forbes.com

Friday, December 2nd, 2005

OKay, so Forbes has published a list of the richest 15 fictional people (The Forbes Fictional 15 – Forbes.com). Now, the idea is pretty interesting since we “all” like these lists and everyone has their favourite fictional characters that seem as real as many actual live people.
However, I really don’t think that Santa Claus as [...]
